Abstract: For this assignment, we were required to partner up with one classmate and interview them. My partner and I choose to do stories about life where we wrote the poem ‘Where I From’ to assist us to know each other more, then start to create questions to ask each other.
During this assignment, I’m going to interview Daisy. As I know, she’s an actor, and I’m looking forward to learn more about her and what inspired her to have this goal. In my view, to become an actor isn’t an easy thing where they need to have different characters and emotions in each role their playing. When I first meet her, she gives me a feeling of confidence which mostly like fulfill with sunshine. By the end of the interview, I hope to learn more about her personal story from the past that shaped today her.
Q: How would you describe yourself?
A: Well that is a very difficult question, I would like to say I am a strong versatile person who will work extremely hard to achieve their goals.
Q: What goal do you have?
A: I want to be an actor and star in shows like the ones I grew up watching.
Q: When did you know you wanted to be an actor?
A: Well I’ve always wanted to be an actor since I was young but it really blossomed when I was in high school and I joined my school drama club. After I got my first lead it made me realize how happy I felt every time was on that stage.
Q: What/Who inspired you to keep working on your goal?
A: My Mom has had full faith in my ability as an actor even before I joined Drama club every time I began to doubt myself she would push me towards my dream.
Q: When was your first performance?
A: My first Performance I didn’t even sign up for I started out as stage crew and the cast ended up needing an extra so my Director told me I had to do it. After that show she told me the next play she had in mind would be perfect for me.
Q: Can you describe how your first performance experience was?
A: It was scary and exhilarating all at the same time, but I ended up realizing its not that scary you just gotta do it.
Q: That was a great starting, does your living environment or background impact you?
A: My living environment can be extremely stressful at times because I live with my entire family and it makes completely assignments and doing what I have to do very difficult cause its hard to focus.
Q: As an actor, what are some of your greatest strengths?
A: I think my greatest strengths as an actor are my ability to memorize lines quickly and understand a character from a literary point of view not only reading what they’re saying but understanding the meaning by each word.
Q: What is your biggest weakness?
A: I can often take on more than I can handle and this leaves me extremely stressed to the point where I end up crying, I always pick myself up and do what I have to do but it can make certain things difficult.
Q: Teamwork is an essential part of plays. How do you maintain a good relationship with your teammates?
A: Well that is something that isn’t very easy you put a bunch of dramatic people in a room there’s bound to be problems but the best thing to do when you’re working in a production is to keep work and friendships separate. I do what I have to do and everything else comes second.
Q: When was your most challenging moment when you are working toward your goal?
A: Dealing with people who didn’t want to see me succeed I am the type of person that takes things to heart so if someone went up to me and said you’re never gonna make it, I would believe it for a while and it took some time to pick myself up.
Q: This should be a difficult moment for you when other people try to bring you down. How have you overcome it?
A: Honestly just some time, confidence isn’t an easy thing to have. But every time someone brought be down I knew that I couldn’t give up because there are always gonna be people who hate on others.
Q: How do your friends or family support you?
A: My family is great they have come to all my shows, have ran lines with me and in those moments where I didn’t think I was good enough for this job they pushed me to never give up.
Q: Throughout each play you have performed at, which one was your favorite role?
A: I played a girl named Jessica darling she was a strong and powerful woman who didn’t let anyone walk all over her and I really resonated with her, plus the author of the book she was from told me that I embodied her perfectly so it really made me feel special.
Q: What is your most outstanding achievement so far?
A: I guess right now I am doing a Zoom play as my first college production and its really testing my acting abilities. But I really love this show and I’m being directed by an actual Broadway star and director so its amazing.
Q: Is there any moment you want to give up on acting? And why?
A: Well being an actor I wanna give up everyday its not an easy job and it can really take a toll on your mental health. But my senior year people started hating me and dragging me into drama which really made me hate drama club cause it made me feel worthless.
Q: Besides performance, is there another activity you would do doing your free time?
A: I love to read, write, watch tv and hang out with my friends just the simple things in life.
Q: Which animals would be best describing your characteristics? And why?
A: This was a very difficult question for me to answer so I asked my mom and she said a lion because everyone is scared of me and honestly I can’t disagree. I’m very vocal, a leader, I command respect and would never let anyone walk all over me.
Q: I notice that you having a plan to study abroad in one of the years in college can you tell more about why do you want to study abroad in Europe?
A: I love European architecture and culture, I have European citizenship so studying abroad there would be easy anti would be great to be closer to my family there.
Q: What experiences do you hope to get through this journey?
A: I hope to learn more about myself and to let loose for once and go on adventures.
Q: How would you achieve it?
A: I would Achieve this by going to other countries and experiencing all they have to offer.
Q: Pretty sure you have a clear goal and plan to achieve, after four to five years where do you think you would see yourself at?
A: I would hope to be on a tv set living out my dream and when I’m not filming I want to be running real estate and turning a castle into a hotel that I would live in.
